Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1973. Ismoilov studied at the Benkov Art College (1987-1990) and the State Institute of Arts (1990-1996) in Tashkent. Since graduating, he worked in theatre, cinema, painting, design, graphic arts, and, finally, video-art. He directed the musical play "The Tricks of Nasreddin" at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet (1997), worked at the Republic Puppet Theatre (1997-2000) and the Theatre of Drama as a scenographer. He also started teaching at the National Fine Arts and Design Institute in 1997. Exploring his themes, characters and own artistic language he held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions extensively, both in Uzbekistan and abroad. He also illustrated several books such as Peter Pan, Sufistic Decameron by Timur Zulfikarov, Gold and Sun Embroiderer by I.Finkelshtein, and Mischief-maker by Gafur Gulyam. In 1999, he held a personal exhibition of his paintings and graphic works at the Cinema House in Tashkent. Most recent exhibitions were in 2015 at the Ilhom Theatre in Tashkent, Palais Concorde in Paris, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, USA, and at the World Art Fair, Dubai. His works are in several public collections including The Fine Art Gallery Of Uzbekistan, The House of Van Gogh in France, the Qala Museum and the city museum in Azerbaijan, the National Bank of Uzbekistan, and the International Art Gallery in the USA, as well as in selected private collections around the world. Ismoilov is a member of the Creative Union of Arts of Uzbekistan and also a member of the Moscow Union of Artists of the International Art Fund. He holds a Golden Medal from the Fine Arts Academy of Uzbekistan and The Medal of the Honored Artists of Uzbekistan. He lives and works in Tashkent.
