Born in Tehran, Rokni Haerizadeh was educated at the University of Fine Arts. He was awarded second prize at the 6th Tehran Contemporary Painting Biennale. His work has been exhibited in many galleries in Iran in 2000, 2002, and 2006, the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in 2004 and in some of the very important galleries in Paris and Dubai. In the Sharjah Biennale in 2011, Rokni Haerizadeh presented ‘Fictionville’ a project featuring works on paper and animation which was also featured in the Art Basel Art Statements in 2012. His works are included in major public and private collections internationally including the Tate Modern, the British Museum, the Devi Art Foundation, the JP Morgan Chase Collection, the Rubell Family Collection and the Saatchi collection to name a few. The artist currently lives and works in Dubai.
