Born in Shiraz in 1960, Ali Shirazi started learning calligraphy in 1974 and soon received the distinction certificate from the Iranian Calligraphy Society. He worked as the Head of the Esfahan Calligraphy society and moved to Tehran in 1988. He became the member of the high council of the Iranian Calligraphy Society and has had many exhibitions since. He was awarded the first award at the Calligraphy festival in 1985 and 1986. His works are featured in presidential palaces and in museums in Iran but also in the Qatar museum and in important private collections in the Middle-East. Ali Shirazi currently lives and works in Tehran.
