LOT ESSAY
This ground-breaking watch unites two worlds, namely, micro-mechanics and the extreme performance of Formula One. The Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team is based in Silverstone, England, close to the iconic racetrack. With this in mind, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Chronograph Aston Martin F1 Edition is limited to 306 pieces, the total distance drivers Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel will aim to cover on race day (5.891km x 52 laps) at the 2022 British Grand Prix.

Girard-Perregaux

Girard-Perregaux, in business for 230 years, is one of the oldest Swiss watchmakers who mastered the art of watchmaking and retained its operation in Switzerland. Founded in 1791 by watchmaker and goldsmith Jean-François Bautte, the manufacturer was the first in the horological business to have all watchmaking facets done in-house, from design to assembly. Known as the House of Bautte, it was later acquired by the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture, owned by husband and wife - Constant Girard and Marie Perregaux - both from prominent watchmaking families in La Chaux-de-Fonds, to became Girard-Perregaux & Cie in 1906.

Some of the brand’s most celebrated models include the Art déco-inflected Vintage 1945, the Three Bridges Tourbillon, inspired by an archival pocket-watch from 1867, and the Constant Escapement L.M., which features a revolutionary silicon blade thinner than a human hair. The sporty Laureato is an enduring classic, referencing the design cues of the 1970s with an octagonal bezel and satin-brushed bracelet strap.

Girard-Perregaux continues to apply its expertise in a modern approach focusing on innovation and excellence. In 2013, the company pioneered a cutting-edge silicon blade for its award-winning and ultra-precise Constant Escapement L.M., followed by the launch of its first water-resistant and lightweight material - Carbon Glass in 2019.
