Born in Rochester, New York, in 1975, Nayar received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1999., and her Master’s degree from the School of Visual Arts, New York, in 2005. In 2011-12, she was Artist in Residence at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, and a Visiting Artist Scholar at New York University. She has also completed residencies at the Centre for Photography at Woodstock, New York, and the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 2010. Solo exhibitions of Nayar’s work have been held in Mumbai and New York, and they have been featured in several group shows in the United States of America, Australia, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and India amongst other countries.
