Born in 1972 to a German mother and Iranian father, Timo Nasseri began his artistic career in photography, graduating from the Berliner Letter-Verein in 1997. In 2004, Nasseri made the transition into creating sculpture inspired by combinations and parallels between Islamic and Western cultural heritage. Timo Nasseri has exhibited in many solo and group shows internationally in Europe as well as the Middle East. In 2011, he was one of the winners of the prestigious Abraaj Capital Art Prize in Dubai. He continues to live and work in Berlin.
