Reena Saini Kallat graduated from the Sir J. J. School of Art in 1996. Solo exhibitions of her work include ‘Untitled (Cobweb/Crossings)’ at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai, in 2013; ‘Labyrinth of Absences’ at Nature Morte, New Delhi, in 2011; ‘Drift’ at Marella Gallery, Milan, in 2009; ‘Silt of Seasons’ at Chemould Prescott Road, Mumbai, in 2008-09; ‘Subject to Change Without Notice’ at Walsh Gallery, Chicago, in 2008; ‘Rainbow of Refuse’ at Bodhi Art, Singapore and Mumbai, 2006; and ‘Black Flute (And Other Stories)’ at Nature Morte, New Delhi, in 2005 and Gallery Chemould, Mumbai, in 2004. Her works have also been included in several group exhibitions including ‘Spell of Spill’ at Palette Art Gallery, New Delhi, in 2013; ‘Water Ways’ and ‘Body Chatter’ at Walsh Gallery, Chicago, in 2010 and 2008-09 respectively; ‘Low Blow: And Other Species of Confusion’ at Stux Gallery, New York , in 2009; My Little India’ at Marella Gallery, Beijing, in 2009; and ‘Urban Manners: Contemporary Artists from India’ at Hangar Bicocca, Milan, in 2007-08. Kallat has received several awards including the Solomon Gladston Award for Painting in 1995, and the Young Artist’s award from the National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai, in 2005. In 2011, she participated in the Laspis Residency, Gothenburg. She lives and works in Mumbai.
