(b. 1975) Born in 1975 in Albstadt in Germany, Matthias Bitzer studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe, he lives and works in Berlin. His works are included the Art Collection of the Federal Republic of Germany and in museum collections such as the LACMA Los Angeles, the Marta Herford Museum or the Kunstsammlung Gera. In 2021 Kunsthalle Göppingen dedicates a solo exhibition to Matthias Bitzer. Previous renowned international exhibitions have been on view at Kunsthalle Krems, Austria (2009), the Rosenblum Collection, Paris (2011) and the Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2012). Solo shows have been presented at Kunstverein Leverkusen (2019), the K21 Kunstsammlung-Nordrhein Westfalen (2015-16), the Kunstverein Hannover (2010) or the Städtische Galerie Nordhorn (2007).
