Born in 1935 in Tehran. Arabshahi graduated in sculpture and painting and achieved a Master’s in Interior Architecture at Tehran University of Decorative Arts. His first exhibition took place at the Iran-India Centre in 1964. He participated in three Tehran Biennales and the Paris Biennale of 1965. He has had solo shows in three prominent Tehran galleries, the Saman Gallery in 1977, the Seyhoun Gallery in 1993 and the Golestan Gallery in 2000. Arabshahi has been commissioned to produced numerous architectural reliefs, including the façade of the Office for Industry & Mining in Tehran and the entrance to the California Insurance Building in Santa Rosa, USA. Arabshahi’s work can be found in the permanent collections of Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art and Museum of Fine Arts. He has been awarded with several international prizes and has published several books on Arts and Architecture.
