Manoucher Yektai

(b. 1922) Born in 1922 in Tehran, Yektai studied at Tehran University at the Faculty of Fine Arts. He then pursued his studies further in 1945-1947 with Amedee Ozenfant (a famous cubist painter from Paris) and later in New York City. In 1946, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and at the Atelier or Andre L’hote in Paris. Further, he studied at the Art Students League in New York with Robert Hale. He belongs to the group of New York School Abstract Expressionist artists. Yektai has held more than 13 solo exhibitions and has several works in American and European collections in museums and galleries alike, including MoMA, New York, Hirsshorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco.
