Huguette Caland

(b. 1931) Born in Beirut in 1931, she first pursued her artistic studies in her hometown but later traveled to Paris. Since the early 1970s, she has exhibited in Lebanon and her artworks has also been shown at a galleries in Rome and Paris, at Tokyo’s Museum of Modern Art. Recently, Caland has pierced the American market, being exhibited in an array of galleries and art institutions across Los Angeles, including the Pacific Design Center and the Articultural Art displayed her work in 2004. The prominent collector, Pierre Naim has her works in his private collection in Monaco and Beirut. Caland’s work also hang in the collection of the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris.
