Born in Andhra Pradesh, Bari Kumar moved to Los Angeles to Study Graphic Design at Otis, the Parsons School of Design, graduating in 1988. He has held several solo and group shows, the most recent ones being ‘So,Who Do You Think You Are’? San Jose Museum of Art, San Jose , CA, in 2011-12; ‘Bring Me A Lion: an Exhibition of Contemporary Indian Art’, The Hunt Gallery, St. Louis, Missouri, in 2010; ‘Indian Art After Independence Selected Works from the Collections of Virginia & Ravi Akhoury and Shelley & Donald Rubin’, Emile Lowe Gallery, Hempstead, in 2009; ‘Foreign Bodies’, Bose Pacia, Kolkata, in 2008-09; ‘In Transit’, Grosvenor Vadehra, London and Bose Pacia, Kolkata, in 2008, among several others. The artist lives and works between Los Angeles and Hyderabad.
